Formulas
Everything on this terminal reduces to eight formulas.
Nothing here is a black box. If a number moves, you can trace which input moved it.
PERF · Performance
Sports APIs · weight 20%
On-field production, advanced stats and stage weighting — measured directly from sport APIs.
SOC · Social
Social APIs · weight 20%
Cross-platform reach, engagement velocity and follower delta — measured directly.
ID · Identity
RII + RCP · weight 20%
Brand voice, story clarity, character signals. Pulled from the RII + RCP engine.
DIA · Diaspora
RDP + RCP · weight 20%
Pan-African / Caribbean / hometown pull — city-level concentration × identity groups.
FAN · Fan Economy
RCPx + RFD + CSRS · weight 20%
Monetization readiness — fan commerce potential across subs, drops, micro-sponsorships and tickets.
Baseline Visibility Score (BVS) — the shared spine
0–100
One formula scores every institution, program, club and league: BVS = TIER + BREADTH + POPULATION + AUDIENCE + COMPETITION ± VARIANCE. Sponsored-sport counts and enrollment are reconciled against the master institution list, so a school scores the same whether it arrives from the NCAA feed, the JUCO feed or the directory.

League BVS = capitalization-weighted mean of its constituents (athlete-weighted).
Team Visibility Score (TVS) — calibrated four-pillar engine
0–100
Each pillar is placed on a common 0–100 scale first, so the weights behave as specified: TVS = SPS×0.20 + MVS×0.40 + CSRS×0.15 + DSPS×0.25. Media carries a carriage floor plus capped log-scaled viewer impressions, city reach carries a diaspora premium, and social reach is modulated by engagement against a size-banded sports benchmark. Every tier also has a baseline, so a program reads both absolutely and against what its own tier normally produces.

| Code | Name | Formula | Scope | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BVS | Baseline Visibility Score | TIER + BREADTH + POP + AUD + COMP ± VAR | Any institution, program, club or league | The shared spine. Every entity — pro club, D-I, D-III, JUCO, master-list institution — scores on identical inputs and caps, so numbers are comparable across tiers. |
| RUTS | RUTS Composite | (PERF + SOC + ID + DIA + FAN) ÷ 5 | Individual athlete | Equal-weight by default. Weights tune per sport, per buyer, per market. |
| TVS | Team Visibility Score | SPS×0.20 + MVS×0.40 + CSRS×0.15 + DSPS×0.25 | Team / program | Calibrated build: each pillar is scaled 0–100 first, media carries a carriage floor, and every tier has its own baseline. |
| RLI | RUTS League Index | Σ(level × athletes × level) ÷ Σ(athletes × level) | Sector | Capitalization-weighted across every tracked league so a 32-team pro league doesn't get out-voted by 500 JUCO programs. |
| RGI | RUTS Global Index | mean(RUTS composite) across all scored individuals | Global | Level-agnostic and league-agnostic. A D-II wideout and an NFL WR1 sit on the same axis. |
| RDI | Roster Diaspora Index | Σ(identity-group density × roster origin weight) | Team / department | City-level concentration crossed with roster geography. |
| RMVI | Master Valuation Index | (RII + RVS + RCPx) ÷ 3 | Terminal layer | The valuation number deals get priced against. |
| RFD | Fan Demand | engagement velocity × conversion propensity × market size | Fan economy | Feeds the FAN category and the deal ladder. |
| MULT | Beat Multiplier | baseline × phase multiplier (1.0×–3.0×) | Content timeline | Openers 1.5–2.1×, rivalry weeks 1.6–2.2×, postseason 1.8–2.6×, draft 3.0×. |
